Casey Reynolds is a Maine Maritime Academy Graduate with a love for Architecture. Between shipping out and spending time with his family, Casey has built an experimental energy efficient house in Hope, Maine. Casey used 2×6 wall construction, 2″ of spray foam insulation in addition to rock-wool batts, a heat recovery ventilator, and a passive solar home design. The south facing windows overlook a two acre field with a small hops farm in early stages of production. The installed electric hot water boiler for in-floor radiant heat keeps the home warm, with the south side of the roof being filled with photovoltaic panels. Casey is interested in renewable energy technologies, advanced home construction techniques, and all things electrical. He holds a Chief Engineers License for Fishing Vessels, and spends half of the year working in the Bering Sea of Alaska.
Ellen Reynolds is also a Maine Maritime Graduate with a Masters Degree in International Business Logistics. She has taken on a major project managing Drift Oceanside Inn in Camden, Maine. http://www.driftoceansideinn.com
